A rather fun little hanger, on the smaller size akin to a large knife rather than a small sword. These hangers were used as weapons of war, often they were used for hunting and highly decorated ones like this were worn as status symbols as part of a gentleman's attire.
This piece interestingly has a pattern welded blade and a style of grip often placed on continental hangers manufactured for Europeans in the East Indies. Thi piece is incredibly finely worked and still has its original scabbard which is rare among older hangers. Even better the hangar is in a rather fine tortoiseshell scabbard with brass fittings. There are some small chips to the tortoiseshell along the rear seam. This sword can be yours for £375 or best offer. This sword has been reduced by 20% for Swordvent to £300
This is antique worked tortoiseshell so before enquiring I would suggest checking whether it is legal to import or own if you are outside of the UK.
