A 19th Cent South China Sea Or Javanese Cutlass £325

A sword I haven't come across before, this has been identified as a piece native to Java or the Islands in the South China Sea somewhat similar to a butterfly sword or short dao with an extreme curve. In addition a few collectors of Latin American and Mexican arms have identified it as having Spanish influences which I could see emerging in Asia. Usually associated with coastal towns and use on the trading and military ships of the area in the 19th century. The grip is wooden and reeded with a sheet metal D guard and a sharply curved short blade.

I purchased this sword in an "as found" state and I have yet to do any restoration beyond stabilizing the blade.

This sword can be yours for and has been reduced a third to £200 or best offer.
