Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!
Tonight is my final composition photo showcasing the beautiful and deadly thrusting weapons of history.
Three of the weapons shown in this image will be for sale tonight.
The faceted cut steel Smallsword with an incredibly worked and engraved guard featuring both arabesque designs, flowing vine engravings and cut and filed multifaceted settings holding a gold inlaid blade.
A Vijayanagara katar which is widely accepted to be the oldest known form of Katar, coming from the Vijayanagara empire of India which was overwhelmed and finally ended in between the mid 16th to 17th century, this example being c1550. With incredible workmanship in the fullering and decorations to the sidebars and hood this is a rare and unique piece.
Lastly there is a rondel dagger, this was actually advertised last Swordvent Calendar but I was fortunate enough to enjoy it for another year after putting it back into my collection in the new year. Now ready to let go this rare dagger from the 14th century is go it is getting a slightly lower price to help it find a new home.
Some of the other pieces in the photo are available too so feel free to ask!
I hope you've all enjoyed the Swordvent Calendar with the composition photos and I wish you all the best in the new year, I hope your collections improve and expand with knowledge and swords coming your way. The feedback, the connections made and the conversations I've had have been amazing and invaluable.
Again Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays. Stay safe, stay sane and have a great time!
