A good condition WW1 era 1897 pattern sabre to the Royal Marines. The Royal Marines as the infantry branch of the Royal Navy adopted the 1897 pattern. This piece has a pierced half bowl guard with the royal cypher, the blade has good crisp etchings and is marked "MADE IN ENGLAND" on the back edge, the tip has been sharpened.
