This watercolour painting is of Major-General Edward Bagot of the 60th Kings Royal Rifle Corps. The painting is labeled "Watercolour 'Edward Bagot in Ensign's Uniform With Charger" it is inscribed on the reverse "To Lady Ponsonby, Constantinople." A relative of the young Ensign Bagot presumably it was done either of family pride or as part of finding him a bride. The painting is in a 20th-century frame with its label taped to the outside. The painting is 24cm x 17cm.
