A stunning example of a rare sabre, this sword is from the Grand Dutchy of Tuscany, one of the Italian states. This sabre has the highly curved blade of a Napoleonic light cavalryman with the melon style pommel and steel guard used by the Tuscan cavalry. This sword is likely an officers fighting sword similar to some pieces appearing in Czernys auction house.
The sword is in good condition with a reprofiled tip, a hefty guard which is overbuilt yet well balanced, the guard is in great condition.
