A sterling silver hilted bowie knife made by J. Beal and Sons of Sheffield.
The piece has what appears to be double marked set of hallmarks both sadly worn and unreadable on the outside of the hilt under the guard.
The blade has a thick ricasso and a wonderful broad blade. The piece has some age-related cosmetic wear but is solid, this piece also has its scabbard which is sadly missing its metal fittings.
