Whilst not a traditional piece this is a composite Japanese Naval Gunto which I suspect may have been assembled as a last ditch weapon towards the end of the Second World War when the Imperial Japanese Government were requesting privately owned blades for the war effort.
This blade is signed Kaneyoshi, dating it to the late 15th to early 16th century and it is fitted with a selection of early 20th century Imperial Japanese parts.
A very odd selection of pieces and in my opinion the blade alone is where this pieces worth is but as the sword came with these parts they are being sold together.
The sword comes with a written appraisal of the blade dating to 1927.
This piece can be yours for £1250 or best offer.
