A nice little piece of history local to London. The Wilkinson sword of Charles Challen, veteran of WW1 and WW2 in the field artillery.
In WW1 Challen had his hand wounded and the severity was such that he was sent back from the front lines, it didn't recover in time for him to rejoin the war but he signed up again in WW2 and served once again as a Royal Artillery officer .
Post War he was a long term politician and was the MP for Hampstead.
