A standard example of a French mid 19th century 1845 pattern sword dated to 1850 and manufactured in Châtellerault. The brass hilt is nicely decorated with the standard floral and vine openwork. The blade is triple fullered with its makers marks in the fullers on both sides.
This sword is priced accordingly to its condition, there is pitting to the tip of the blade and the grip wire is abscent.
