Here we have a rather unique mid 18th century gentlemans sidearm from Germany, these hunting or officers sidearms were carried for hunting, war and as part of a gentlemans daily dress. This piece is unlike any other I have seen, it has a German produced blade but a rather unique hilt, the shagreen is in good condition and it has two plates on either side of the grip with one plain but the outer one showing a hunting scene. The sword is in good condition with some age related staining.
