This short French silver and ebony mounted hanger bears the Ancien Regime inventory marks worn but legible for Paris dating to 1732 to 1738. This gentlemans sidearm is of high quality and feels incredibly light and nimble in the hand. The sword is in the Eastern style after the Hungarian hangers and swords of the 17th and early 18th centuries, a style in vogue in France until around the 1740's.
