EIC 1845 Pattern Infantry Sabre £600

A rather fun example of an East India Company infantry officer sword, it is not the most standard example, the guard and scabbard have been plated to prevent corrosion, the EIC cipher is very detailed and has the not often seen EIC legend underneath the lion. The blade is in near mint condition with the EIC lions on both sides, the sword has no maker.

The grip had been painted red and I have slowly been removing it, there is less now than there is in the images. The scabbard has been modified to allow the sword to either be mounted ion a wall flat with a slot cut in or also to be used in Scotland for sword dancing, something that is done with bayonets and swords occasionally.

This sword can be yours for £600 or best offer.
