This sword is an incredible sabre and one of those 19th century Afghan pieces caried by the upper echelons of the tribal military hierarchy.
The blade is a pattern welded "Damascus" style of sabre in good condition with a nicely sharp curve. The hilt is worked in the remains of cut steel engravings with a cartouche depicting an unclear script on the knucklebow.
Unlike any sword I had ever seen I had to pick this up when I had the chance and now so can you! The sword comes with a wooden scabbard in a 20th century fabric.
