An interesting and unique Paeremes, these knives are part of a Zeeland tradition of utility or farming knives. The hilts would be carved, usually out of boxwood, by the individual making each of these knives ones of a kind. What makes this example unique is the age and the blade, the blade is an 18th to early 19th-century military spadroon. The hilt is period softwood that is in impeccable condition, the horse carving was worn from use but most interestingly there is still the small carved caged ball that rattles in the hilt. This unique dagger can be yours for £265 or best offer.
