An interesting and unique sabre dating to the tail end of the 18th century, this piece is likely a non-standard combat sword of the era which is quite reminiscent of the dirks of the Royal Indian Navy but a full-sized sword in the style of the 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre.
The sword has an ivory knurled grip and a pleasantly faceted brass backstrap and guard. There is a pair of rings for a chain knucklebow which is absent. The scabbard has a rather pleasant set of brass fittings on the scabbard. This sword can be yours for £850 or best offer.
