C1750 Steel Hilt Smallsword £345

A rather fine piece of medium length with a blade just over twenty-eight inches of all-steel construction, the clamshell guard of fine proportions with a reinforced edge. The sword likely coming from the second third of the 18th century has an early triform blade and a tarred grip, as the grip is still solid I can not see if the grip under is cord or wire but I suspect wire.

The sword is undecorated but has an elegant simplicity to it. Potentially a pre regulaton officers sidearm.
