A stunning European half clamshell shearing sword with a broad cut and thrust blade and silver on iron-plated hilt. The pommel is incredibly reminiscent of mid to late 17th century rapiers, transitional smallswords and broadswords making me think this may be a rather advanced 17th century sword. The sword is in good condition for its age with one side of the blade better than the other. The hilt has the remains of silver plate.
