A rare early 18th Century riverfound slot hilt cavalry sword. This came out of a River in the South of England in the last few years and is of an unusual sort, the blade and guard are very large leading me to believe this is a very early slot hilt and designed for cavalry use, possbly with a guard intended to fit over a gauntlet. There is no grip material left due to it being organic but the sword is still incredibly solid with the peen holding the pommel and the guard on. A totally unique sword that I would say could even be a candidate for restoration if done by a professional. This sword can be yours for £400.
