This is an interesting piece, a short sabre or hanger from the late 17th century in the English style with a rather large clamshell guard and a slender faceted knucklebow. The grip however is very similar to certain Dutch or French hangers I have handled. The blade has some waves in the steel near the ricasso which leads me to believe this is a pattern welded piece, the blade is marked on both sides with a moon with a stylised face. A good chance to get a rare and interesting type of 17th-century sword in incredible condition. This sword can be yours for £945 or best offer.
