An 18th Century Moors Head Sabre

This sword is a cut down Italian style sabre with a Moors head pommel. These sabres are often associated with Italian Kingdoms naval seafarers.

The grip and pommel are exquisitely worked with light and dark hardwoods and the blade is engraved with talismanic symbols.

The blade is German manufactured and I have to say of all these swords bearing this etching I have never found one I do not love in the hand, it flows and I can see why this Solingen makers swords were popular from Europe to India.
