19th Century Bhutanese Dozum £195

A stunning example of a dozum in a silver sheath with a beautiful pierced openwork silver pommel and sheath.

These dozum come in many kinds of styles with wood or horn grips and sheath, ones with silver pommels are usually reserved for the martial upper class of Bhutanese society. This example has a makers mark in the blade. The blade on this piece is slightly less acute than many dozum with a profile very akin to a Victorian bowie. The sheath bears hammer and chisel work depicting a Druk (Bhutanese Dragon) in a cartouche over a chiselled background.

This piece can be yours for £195 or best offer.
