A rather fine and interesting takouba in great condition which really allows us to see what a high-end and prestigious weapon this would have been when first made. The scabbard is nicely tooled Moroccan leather in near-perfect condition, the sword is decorated with brass and copper metalwork chiseled and worked in arabesque designs. The blade has nicely made double moons which leads me to believe this is a German trade blade and not a local copy.
The blade has an offset guard (slightly more protection over the fingers than wrist) and a cylindrical brass grip. The sword is in good condition for its age.
