A cleaned example of a South Indian katar with pierced openwork on the sidebars and guard. The grip is somewhat reminiscent of hooded katar from the 16th century and the art style of the chisel work leads me to believe this piece is South Indian.
Whilst the blade is relatively slender it does have the typical armour piercing bulge towards the tip. The katar has been cleaned by a previous owner but luckily it was not polished to a mirror finish. This katar can be yours for £295 or best offer.
