One of the famous Indian gauntlet swords, this is a must have for any collection of Indo-Persian or unique arms. These swords are made of a metal gauntlet, usually brass or steel with a forward facing blade emerging above the knuckles.
This example has a steel gauntlet with a steel wrist strap and grip bar, there is a floral brass edge around the rim of the gauntlet and a brass floral rivet on the bar (the other one is absent), the langets holding the blade terminate in a fleur de lis or lotus form. The blade on this patta is a thin double-edged blade which appears to be from a European rapier or cut and thrust sword.
This sword can be yours for £895 or best offer.
