Much like the 1751 Hanger for other ranks the British used there was a similar concept in the German states to give each infantryman some kind of sword.
The hanger has a curved blade and a heart shaped boatshell guard that has interestingly been cut in half to hang against the coat in a more comfortable fashion, leaving the protection on the outer hand but compromising over the thumb. This hanger has had a thumb ring removed, another common feature modified in the field. This one still bears its unit and designation markings on the knucklebow and the guard.
The sword has a composite scabbard with original and vintage parts.
This sword can be yours for £310 or best offer.
