A large backsword bladed 1805 Pattern to the EIC Royal Indian Navy, this sword would have been purchased by an officer for use on the Royal Indian Navy for their main purpose of pirate hunting and protecting the trade routes around India. Later on the job or the RIN was to hunt down slaving ships that would raid India's shores to repatriate the slaves taken for sale.
The sword is in good condition for its age with a large backsword blade and the EIC lion present on both langets, the sword has lost most of its blade decorations and the shagreen whilst all present has shrunk somewhat making this all the more likely to be a sword carried in the sea air. This sowrd can be yours for £945 or best offer. The sword has been reduced to £745 for Swordvent!
