A rare example of an ever so slightly non standard 1803 Sabre with a hilt bearing the strung bugle marking it out to most likely a Rifle regiment or a Light Company. Made by Osborn this sabre can be dated to 1803 when the pattern came into play and 1805 when he went into partnership to become Osborn and Gunby making this a nice dateable example. The sabre bears quite a lot of its gilt in the engravings and some of the blue remains. The wire is present but loose.
